This peaceful Alaskan scene has a calm atmosphere, with the soft glow of the sun on the tips of the trees and the cool mist hanging on the base of the mountains. This is an early piece, and was the first mountain scene I had ever painted.

The Sycamore Gap has a special place in my heart, and after it was felled, I painted this scene as a ‘farewell’. The tree was hundreds of years old and had a huge history. Robin Hood can be seen overlooking the landscape, as a nod to the film ‘Robin

Robin Hood can be seen overlooking the landscape, as a nod to the film ‘Robin Hood, prince of thieves’ (1991) in which the tree was used for a scene. This silhouette piece was all painted by hand.
